It's time for your weekly pint of mountain fresh news. Chuck and I are coming off a very busy weekend full of clinkin' and drinkin' with old and new friends. Rainier sponsored what KIRO news 7 called "the best Seafair party in town." It was hosted by proud members of the RainierNation, Scott and Margaret, who have a beautiful home overlooking the hydroplane pits on Lake Washington. Live bands, sunshine, the Blue Angels, and plenty of Rainier made for a very good time. The party was directly above the fancy "executive suites" for the Budweiser people who on several occasions asked us to take down some of our Rainier banners etc, because they were getting in their camera shots. They also wanted us to turn down our music because it was aggravating their mommies and disrupting their conversations about French cheese and poetry. In a move that has earned Scott the title of "honorary team captain of the RainierNation," he politely told them to get back on their huge horsies and ride back to St. Louis. Check out http://www.rainierfan.com for some of the action photos.
The last few days have been spent recovering from the party with the help of daily ice baths and about a half gallon of Tiger Balm. We don't have a whole lot of time to recover because the Yankees come into town this weekend. I realize that the Mariners are a little difficult to get terribly excited about, but we need to rally together to defeat a common enemy. During a Rainier Party held at Safeco Field early in the season, they played a portion of our show "RainierVision" on the big screen during the Mariner's batting practice. They promptly went on a four game winning streak. It is obvious that Rainier makes the Mariner's better. Therefore, we will be bringing the "R" down to the stadium for the games this weekend in hopes that it will give our guys the extra push they need to sweep the Yanks out of town. Look for us around the stadium before the games. After Saturday's game we will be hanging out at the Triangle Tavern and the King Street Pub. Come say hello and raise a glass with us.
Until then, let's keep this tRainier a-rollin' down the tracks.
